Marnie started diving in 1992 in British Columbia. She became a PADI instructor, underwater photographer, achieved trimix and technical certifications, and owned a watersports company. She has a BSc in Oceanography from the University of British Columbia and an MA in Marine Science, Education & Policy from the University of Rhode Island. She studied, researched, and taught primarily in the Caribbean. 

 

She has a background in development and implementation of interactive coastal education programs, and continues to work with schools and non-profit organizations in the Cayman Islands. She created the Coral Reef Exploration program for school children in the Cayman Islands, who did not have access to experiencing the underwater environment.

 

Her favourite thing about diving is the opportunity to observe and interact with the incredible life in the ocean. Her background in Oceanography brings a new depth to the surveying of EDSBC.
