Ivan was born and raised in the Czech Republic. He quite enjoyed kindergarten, especially the post-lunch naps. After backpacking around the world for a few years, he found himself in British Columbia and has been here ever since.

 

He started diving in Vancouver in 2017, quickly accelerated into becoming a diving instructor, and is now working for Shearwater Research. Being based out of Campbell River, he has some of the best diving in the world on his doorstep. 

 

His favourite thing about diving is the unknown: the chance to see something that hasn’t been seen before, and the opportunity to go a bit further than before.
