Eiko started diving when he was in high school in New Zealand, and has since been diving around Mexico, Egypt, Caymans, Canada, Hawaii, and Florida. He became a Divemaster in Vancouver, BC and has been an underwater photographer and videographer for the past ten years.

He produced the film Heartbeat of the River, a story about the life of a salmon, which won a number of awards in film festivals. His goal with this film was to bring viewers into the world of salmon, and while filming spent countless years submerged in the Campbell and Quinsam River surrounded by this incredible keystone species.

His favourite thing about diving is photographing and filming marine life behaviour, and he has an insatiable curiosity for what lays around the corner. We’re lucky to have Eiko on the EDSBC team, and his passion for capturing exploratory moments can be seen through some of the media on this website.
